Irene and Ludger Jesso

As A native of Kenya, Irene has seen first hand how hard it can be as a child growing up. Though she can from a stable home she saw many who did not have that protection. She began looking for ways to help her country, which lead her to Canada.. During one of her many trips to arrange funding for her mission  she met Ludger whom she about a year later married The two now split their time between raising a family of two boys in Canada and trips back to Kenya.

Name Ken Atulo I started working with orphans in 1994 immediately after high school. I was involved with my church in setting up a feeding center in our church. We could feed street children on Sundays and invite them to be closer to God . I did the work for 9 years, many of the children responded well to the gospel and some decided to go to school, We were able to reach some if the parents through visiting and helping them to start up small businesses Most of the children we helped had come from a single parental background. Many of their mothers would work in brothels, in front of the children. Some mothers brewed traditional drinks in the brothel. Men would come for a drink at the brothel and then stay and sleep with the mothers, even when their children were present. Some children would be forced to go to town to borrow so that they can assist with house finances, if they come empty handed they would get a beating and sleep outside. My friend Irene, with the help of her husband Ludger, set up a children's home. I felt God calling my wife and myself to help by becoming house parents. With Jesus help, we have created a home for some of these children. A place where they can feel secure and safe, with a roof over their head. God has called my wife and myself to work with vulnerable children and be a mentor to many. I believe God has a special place for us in this vital ministry.
